Meet Dr. Kyla Martin

Why I Started Good Steward Health

I became a physician because I wanted to help people live healthier, fuller lives—not simply manage disease.

Over the years, I became increasingly frustrated with a healthcare system that often limits time with patients and focuses on treating symptoms rather than understanding the whole person. I founded Good Steward Health to create a different kind of practice—one built on relationships, thoughtful medical care, and a commitment to helping patients pursue lasting health.

My Approach to Medicine

I believe the best healthcare combines the strengths of evidence-based medicine with a proactive focus on prevention and lifestyle. As a board-certified Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine physician, I partner with patients to understand contributing factors to illness, address chronic disease thoughtfully, and help them build sustainable habits that improve long-term health.

Every patient is unique, and every care plan should be too.

My Background

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Colorado. Through the Army Health Professions Scholarship Program, I completed my Family Medicine residency at Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas.

During my military career, I served as a Brigade Surgeon and later in physician leadership roles before continuing my career as a hospitalist and Assistant Inpatient Medical Director at Baylor Scott & White. These experiences reinforced my commitment to comprehensive, relationship-based care and continue to shape how I practice today.

Beyond the Office

My husband, Stephen, and I have been married since 2005 and are blessed with four wonderful children. Together we co-founded Vintage Church, where we continue to serve our local community. Much of what I believe about medicine is shaped by my Christian faith and the conviction that our health is a gift worth stewarding well.

Outside the office, I enjoy cooking, learning, spending time with my family, and helping others discover practical ways to live healthier lives.

My Promise to Patients

Whether you're seeking a new primary care physician, working to improve your metabolic health, or simply looking for a doctor who will truly listen, my goal is to provide thoughtful, compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to your unique needs.

I would be honored to partner with you in your health journey.
